Lydia Loves
Hi! I'm Lydia.
And this is where I share the things I love.
I know how ridiculous that sounds. Like, who am I to think people care enough to read about what I happen to like? I know because I thought this myself for a long time (and still think it sometimes, if I’m being honest). But here’s the thing. I buy and try a lot of stuff. Don’t (at) me about this. I am fiscally responsible. I am not promoting mass consumerism.
I don’t buy things solely to make me happy.
I have two kids, one in elementary school and the other in preschool. For those who have either lived through this stage of their life or are in this stage of their life, you understand. This and this alone is reason enough to buy and try A LOT of stuff.
I also do all the shopping for our household: groceries, toiletries, clothing, furniture, appliances, flooring, fixtures… everything. It’s not that my husband won’t do any of the shopping or that I don’t communicate with him about our purchases. It’s that I do all the shopping for our household. I will find any and all sales, deals, etc. for pretty much anything anyone in this house needs or wants. ANYTHING.
So, again… I buy and try A LOT of stuff.
In the pre-influencer era, when I found something I loved, I shared it. Because I am a busy body. My brain does not shut off. I have ADHD. I felt if I didn’t share it, it would somehow consume me forever. As if my thoughts about how much I loved this thing would live there forever taking up much needed space. I needed to get it all out of my head. So, I guess I used my social media as my personal shopping journal? I don’t know the why, but I do know I never thought anything of it. If people didn’t want to see what I was sharing, they could ignore it… and really… who could possibly take issue with me sharing my favorite hand creams?

My people who get me would message me about things I shared or ask questions. Whenever that happened, it was game over. I love my people… my people are amazing… so when I have info about something they think they might like, it is game on for me.
